Without Neymar, Santos suffers a comeback and loses to Vasco in its debut in the Brazilian Championship

Santos started off winning with a beautiful goal from a former Cruzeiro player, but suffered a comeback in the second half and saw Vasco emerge victorious in Rio de Janeiro.

Santos debuted with a comeback defeat to Vasco, 2-1, in the 2025 Brazilian Championship. On Sunday night (30/3), at the São Januário Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, former Cruzeiro midfielder Barreal opened the scoring for Peixe with a beautiful chipped goal, but Nuno Moreira and Vegetti scored for Cruzmaltino and turned the result around.

For the second round of the Brazilian Championship, Santos returns to the field next Sunday (7/4) to face Bahia. The ball will roll at Vila Belmiro.

Vasco, in turn, faces Melgar-PER at the San Agustín National University Stadium, for their debut in the South American this Wednesday (2).

On Saturday, Cruzmaltino turns its attention to the Brasileirão, when it faces Corinthians, at the Neo Química Arena.
