According to Egyptian website FilGoal, the Al Ahly player was fined for disobeying the official list of takers

Forward Mahmoud Trezeguet of Egypt has been punished by Al Ahly after missing a penalty in a goalless draw against Inter Miami at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, in the opening game of the Club World Cup. According to Egyptian website FilGoal, the player was fined for disobeying the official list of penalty takers.

Trezeguet accepted the punishment and apologized to his teammates. The fine was confirmed by Al Ahly on its YouTube channel. Forward Wessam Abu Ali said he is first on the list of takers, but admitted that he let Trezeguet take the shot.

“I am the first [on the list] to take penalties, but Trezeguet wanted to take the shot because he felt he could score, but unfortunately he missed. We have a list of penalty takers and Trezeguet is right behind me,” he said.

In the opening game of the FIFA Club World Cup, Ah Ahly and Inter Miami drew 0-0 last Saturday (14/6) at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

Despite stars such as Lionel Messi, Luis Súarez and Sergio Busquets on the field, the match in the United States had goalkeeper Oscar Ustari as the star player. Ustari, from Inter Miami, saved a penalty and made other great saves in the first half of the match for the first round of Group A of the Club World Cup.

The second half, especially in the final moments, had some exciting moments: Messi sent a venomous ball into the crossbar; and the El Shenawy goalkeeper secured a draw for the Egyptian club with a fine save from Falcón’s header.

With this result, Al Ahly and Inter Miami have each earned their first points in the Club World Cup. The other match in the group, between Palmeiras and Porto, at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, also ended in a 0-0 draw.
