
Barcelona secured a spot in the Champions League semifinals with a 4-0 win over Borussia Dortmund.
On Wednesday (4/9), Barcelona beat Borussia Dortmund 4-0 in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals, played at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium. Lewandowski (2), Raphinha and Yamal scored the goals in the match.
With the Spanish team holding a good lead, the return leg will be held on Tuesday at 4 pm (Brasília time) at the Signal Iduna Park. The team that qualifies will face the winner of the match between Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.
The two teams will return to action on Saturday. Barcelona will face Leganés away from home in the Spanish Championship. Borussia Dortmund will visit Bayern Munich in the German league.
The first half was marked by Barcelona’s dominance, with a full house. In the 25th minute, Fermín López crossed and Pau Cubarsí headed the ball into the goal. Raphinha finished with a sliding tackle and opened the scoring in Spain.
In the second half, Barcelona continued to press and extended their lead. In the third minute, after a cross from Yamal, Raphinha passed to Lewandowski to score the second. In the 21st minute, the Pole took advantage of a pass from Fermín López, kicked hard and scored the third.
With a three-goal deficit, Borussia Dortmund went on the attack, but suffered from counterattacks. In the 32nd minute, after a through ball from Raphinha, Yamal beat goalkeeper Kobel to close the score.
