Protests Mark Difficult Time for Palmeiras in Brazilian Championship, Who Face Three Consecutive Defeats. Experience the game in high-definition with live scores and updates delivered straight to your screen with BBscore MeusResultados.

Yesterday afternoon, around 20 members of the organized fan group Mancha Alviverde invaded the Palmeiras Training Center. The incident occurred a day after the team’s 2-0 defeat to Flamengo at Maracanã in the first leg of the Copa do Brasil Round of 16.

The fans took advantage of a gap in the gate’s opening to enter the training facility, aiming to speak with key figures of the squad and coach Abel Ferreira. However, they were unable to access the internal areas and only had contact with a member of the administrative staff, who is not directly involved with the football department. After approximately 30 minutes, the Mancha members left the premises.

Protests of this nature had not occurred at Palmeiras for some time, especially due to the rift between President Leila Pereira and Mancha Alviverde since the start of her term in 2022. In response to the invasion, the club issued an official statement labeling the action as “illegal and purposeless” and promised to take appropriate measures, including filing a police report.

Palmeiras is experiencing one of its worst moments of the season, with three consecutive defeats. In the Brazilian Championship, the team lost to Fluminense and Vitória, in addition to a poor performance against Flamengo last Wednesday. The team will need to defeat Flamengo by two goals on the next Wednesday at Allianz Parque to take the decision to penalties, or by three goals to secure a direct spot.

Before that, Palmeiras will face Internacional in Porto Alegre on Sunday at 5:00 PM at Beira-Rio in the Brasileirão. The team is expected to use a reserve lineup for this match.
