A rendition of Liverpool’s anthem “You’ll Never Walk Alone” will be played before the start of the match at 11am (Brasília time) against Preston
Liverpool have announced a series of tributes to Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva when the Reds return to action on Sunday in Preston for the first time since the Portuguese striker’s death.
Jota and Silva died in a car accident in northern Spain on July 3.
Liverpool’s return to pre-season training was postponed until Tuesday as a result.
However, the match against Premier League side Preston will go ahead as scheduled in Liverpool’s first pre-season friendly.
A rendition of the Liverpool anthem “You’ll Never Walk Alone” will be played before kick-off at 11 a.m. (Brasília time), and Preston will lay a wreath in front of the away fans.
A minute’s silence will be observed, digital tributes will be displayed on the stadium’s big screen and on pitchside advertising panels, and players from both teams will wear black armbands.
