Gabonese striker Aaron Boupendza, 28, fell from building in China, where he played for Zhejiang.

Gabonese striker Aaron Boupendza died on Tuesday (15/4) after falling from the 11th floor of a building in Zhejiang, China. The cause of death of the 28-year-old player is being investigated by Chinese authorities, who have not ruled out the possibility of suicide, according to local media.

Left-footed striker and 1.80m tall, Aaron Boupendza had been playing for Zhejiang since the beginning of this year. He scored four goals and two assists for the Chinese team.

Aaron Boupendza’s career

Revealed by Mounana, Boupendza left Gabon in 2016 and transferred to France, where he played for Bordeaux, Pau FC, Ajaccio and Tours. The Gabonese international has also played for Feirense (Portugal), Hatayspor (Turkey), Al Arabi (Qatar), Al Shabab (Saudi Arabia), FC Cincinnati (USA) and Rapid Bucharest (Romania).

For the Gabonese national team, Aaron Boupendza played 35 games and scored eight goals. Throughout his career, Boupendza scored 93 goals in 238 games – an average of 0.39.
