Flamengo showed strength and won 2-1 against Bragantino, this Wednesday (23/7), at Cicero de Souza Marques Stadium. With the result in the 16th round of the Brazilian Championship, the red-blacks reached 33 points and remain in second place.
The São Paulo team, with 27, is in fourth. Cruzeiro, leader with 34 points, drew with Corinthians, at Neo Química Arena, also on Wednesday. Bragantino opened the scoring early in the second half, with Lucas Barbosa. Flamengo turned the game around with goals from Léo Pereira and Wesley. In the 17th round of the Brasileirão, Flamengo hosts Atlético, on Sunday (27), at Maracanã. On Saturday (26), Bragantino visits Fortaleza, at Castelão.

Bragantino started the match looking to attack. The home side created good chances through Mosquera and Lucas Barbosa. Flamengo only managed to respond some time later, through Bruno Henrique and Pedro. After a lively start, the match’s performance dropped off. Bragantino and Flamengo maintained their attacking style, but created few chances. It wasn’t until the final half that Bragantino nearly scored in the 41st minute. John John took a free kick and saw Rossi make a great save.
The match remained even until halftime. In the second half, Bragantino opened the scoring after 11 seconds. Lucas Barbosa was released into the box and chipped the ball past Rossi.
