“We welcome Pedrão to Pafos and look forward to his contributions on and off the pitch,” the Cypriot club posted on social media.
Cruzeiro defender Pedrão was announced this Friday (July 18th) as a reinforcement for Pafos, a Cypriot team. The 21-year-old defender had been on loan at Avaí since the beginning of the year and has now taken a new step in his career.
Pedrão’s contract with the European club will run until the end of the 2025/26 season. “We welcome Pedrão to Pafos and look forward to his contributions on and off the field as we continue to build the future,” the Cypriot club posted on social media. The defender, revealed by Raposa, celebrated: “Happy and motivated for the start of this new challenge.”
Pedrão at Cruzeiro
Pedrão played for years in Cruzeiro’s youth academy. In 2022, he was selected for the first team for the first time and earned two caps: a 2-1 victory over Operário Ferroviário in the 10th round of the Brazilian Championship Series B; and a 2-1 loss to Fluminense in the first leg of the Copa do Brasil Round of 16. Over the following two years, he was available for the first team at times but never returned to the field. Meanwhile, he played for Raposa’s U-20 team. In December 2024, Pedrão sealed a loan move to Avaí – initially, he was scheduled to remain until the end of 2025. He made 20 appearances for the Santa Catarina club.
