Defender Jair is no longer part of Botafogo’s squad for the remainder of the 2025 season. This Friday, the Rio de Janeiro club’s board confirmed the player’s sale to Nottingham Forest, England.
“Botafogo has completed the sale of defender Jair to Nottingham Forest-ING. Glorioso thanks the defender for all his dedication and determination during his time wearing the #GloriosaCamisa and wishes him success in his career!” Glorioso posted on social media.
According to journalist Venê Casagrande, the English club will pay 12 million euros (approximately R$76.5 million) for the defender. Jair’s contract will be valid for five seasons.

Jair was acquired by Botafogo from Santos in early 2025, where he was born. The defender completes a meteoric run in Rio de Janeiro, having been sold after 22 games by Glorioso.
Nottingham Forest had a strong run in the Premier League last season, finishing the season with 65 points, a surprising seventh place.
