About to turn 39, striker Hulk remains deadly in front of goal. This Sunday (July 20), he couldn’t prevent Atlético’s 3-2 defeat to Palmeiras, but scored twice from free kicks and gained a spot in the ranking of the greatest active scorers in world football.
The Galo’s number 7 joins the list alongside other great names in the sport. Now with 447 career goals, he has tied Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko of Fiorentina in eighth place. Just ahead of them are England’s Harry Kane of Bayern Munich, with 452, and Uruguay’s Edinson Cavani of Boca Juniors, with 462.
Hulk is the highest-ranked Brazilian in the ranking. Next, in 10th, is striker Neymar. Santos’ number 10 has scored 443 goals throughout his career. The top spot is held by Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo. The Saudi Arabian striker for Al-Nassr has 937 career goals and is chasing his 1,000th.
Rounding out the top three are Argentine attacking midfielder Lionel Messi of Inter Miami with 874, and Polish striker Robert Lewandowski of Barcelona with 712.
