“He has to accept that he is in a bad phase and just do one thing: keep working,” said the Verdão coach.
Palmeiras coach Abel Ferreira said that striker Vitor Roque, a Cruzeiro product, needs to work to overcome his declining form. This season, he has played 25 games for the club and scored three goals. In the 1-1 draw with Mirassol on Wednesday (July 16th) at Allianz Parque in the Brazilian Championship, Vitor Roque played 66 minutes and missed two clear scoring chances.
Abel Ferreira was asked about the center forward’s current form and admitted that he needs to improve. “There are things that need to improve, he (Vitor Roque) knows that. You’ve seen him play. He has to accept that he’s in a bad phase and just do one thing: keep working. He’s only 20 years old. I get the feeling he plays with 50 kilos on his back,” said the Palmeiras coach.
Vitor Roque’s Price
In February of this year, Palmeiras paid Barcelona €25.5 million (approximately R$154 million), with a possible increase to €27 million (R$163 million), to sign the 20-year-old striker. Vitor Roque was revealed by Cruzeiro in 2021. The following year, Athletico-PR paid the player’s release clause of approximately R$24 million, while the club kept R$11 million.
