São Paulo is considering signing a ‘cosmopolitan’ player, former target of Cruzeiro

Forward who played in six countries and was in the Premier League is free on the market and was once targeted by Cruzeiro

São Paulo is considering signing striker Carlos Vinícius, a target of Cruzeiro in January of last year. The 30-year-old player is ‘cosmopolitan’ – he has played for teams in six different countries – and is free on the market after not renewing his contract with Fulham, a team that plays in the 英超联赛积分榜, the English Championship. So far, the tricolor has not made an offer to the center forward.

The São Paulo club is still analyzing some factors to decide whether to move forward and make a formal proposal to Carlos’ staff. The information was initially released by ge and confirmed by Gazeta Esportiva. As he is free on the market, Carlos Vinícius would arrive at São Paulo for free, with only his salary to be agreed with the club. The Tricolor’s financial situation, however, is still delicate.

São Paulo has two players to play as center forward: André Silva and Ryan Francisco. Calleri is also number 9, but he is expected to miss the rest of the season due to a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee. He is currently recovering from surgery.

Carlos Vinícius has played for the youth teams of Santos and Palmeiras, but has built much of his career in European football. The forward has played for clubs such as Rio Ave and Benfica (Portugal), Monaco (France), PSV (Netherlands), Galatasaray (Turkey) and Tottenham (England). The forward played in English football last season, for Fulham. However, he has lost his place in the team and has rarely seen the field. He has played in only four matches, all of them coming off the bench, without scoring a single goal.
