Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti cannot count on all 25 players he called up for the next FIFA Date
Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti held his first training session under the command of the Brazilian National Team this Monday (2/6). The players called up trained at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava, Corinthians, and began preparations for the match against Ecuador, in the 15th round of the South American Qualifiers. Ancelotti has not yet had the entire group available. The players who played in the Champions League final last Saturday, in Munich, did not participate in the training. They are: Carlos Augusto, from Inter Milan, Beraldo and Marquinhos, both from the champion Paris Saint-Germain. The trio will join the delegation in the afternoon. In addition to them, the players from Palmeiras (Estêvão) and Flamengo (Alex Sandro, Danilo, Léo Ortiz and Gerson) also did not step onto the pitch. They played for their respective teams last Sunday, in the 11th round of the Brasileirão. Right-back Wesley, who did not play against Fortaleza, was the only representative of Rubro-Negro on the field.
The press had access to the first 15 minutes of the training session led by Carlo Ancelotti. The athletes warmed up and did a passing activity under the watchful eye of the Italian. Goalkeepers Alisson, Bento and Hugo Souza did a separate workout on another field.
The Brazilian National Team will resume training on Tuesday morning. Training is scheduled for 11 am (Brasília time), again at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava. Before the activity, there will also be a press conference with two players called up. On Wednesday, the group will train at the Monumental Isidro Romero Carbo Stadium, in Guayaquil, the venue for the match against Ecuador. The match, which will mark Ancelotti’s debut as the coach of the Canarinho, will be played at 8:00 p.m. (Brasília time) this Thursday. Then, on June 10, the coach will lead Brazil for the first time on home soil, against Paraguay.
The match will be held at Neo Química Arena, a stadium he visited this weekend when he watched the match between Corinthians and Vitória. The ball will start rolling at 9:45 p.m. The Brazilian team is coming off a tough defeat against Argentina and is in fourth place in the Qualifiers, with 21 points. The gap to the top of the standings is ten points.
