Co-founder of the Reddit communications platform, he acquired 10% of the shares of Chelsea Women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 42-year-old American paid 20 million pounds (approximately R$150.6 million at the exchange rate) for the deal. With this, Ohanian expands his investment portfolio in the world of sports. He is also a shareholder in Angel City (soccer), Los Angeles Golf Club (golf), ATHLOS (athletics).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On social media, Alexis celebrated the purchase and said he is excited about the project. \u201cThese players are rewriting the game. Unbeaten season. Eyes on the treble. But it\u2019s not just about winning titles. It\u2019s about finally matching their talent with the resources, visibility and respect they deserve. I\u2019ve been right about this before and I couldn\u2019t be more excited,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chelsea Women were crowned Women\u2019s Super League champions, 12 points ahead of runners-up Arsenal. They also won the FA Women\u2019s League Cup with a 2-1 win over Manchester City in the final. They are also in the Women\u2019s FA Cup final against Manchester United.
