The Nigerian player collided with the goalpost in the game against Leicester, last Sunday (11\/5), in the Premier League.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 27-year-old player violently collided with the goalpost while trying to head the ball in the final minutes of the match &#8211; which ended in a 2-2 draw. &#8220;The club wishes to inform that Taiwo Awonyi has undergone emergency surgery following the abdominal injury he sustained during Sunday&#8217;s game against Leicester,&#8221; Forest wrote in a statement, in which it said it would provide more details &#8220;in due course&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After colliding with the opposing goalpost, Awoniyi received medical attention for several minutes on the field and was substituted.
